Hi, I’m Alexa, and I’m pictured above with my mare Diva, my horse bestie for 20 years.

If you’re interested in an osteopathy session at my clinic in Duncan, BC, wonderful! I look forward to seeing you in person sometime soon.

Head to this link and you’ll learn all about this work and how to book.

If you’re here for horse-related stuff, read on…

My family and friends were certain I’d grow out of my love/obsession with horses (maybe you can relate?). Now, at 43, it’s still going strong and growing, and has been fueling my curiousity, creativity and life’s work for the past 20 years, first as the human of my mare Diva, then as an Equine Therapist and Animal Intuitive, and now as an author, facilitator/instructor and podcaster.

If you’ve arrived here, you too may be feeling a nudge (or shove) towards more ethical, collaborative horse care practices. Maybe you share my dream of a world where horses are acknowledged as the intelligent, connecting and feeling beings they are, and crave a supportive community that just gets it.

You may feel the frustration of learning, experiencing and witnessing outdated and harmful methods used with horses or feel like the black/rainbow sheep of your barn. It’s both an exciting and infuriating time to be a horse person, given all the resources now available, and despite so much available wisdom and research, the resistance of many to make real change.

It’s one of the big reasons I created the Whole Horse Apprenticeship, the Whole Horse Podcast and my online course Redefining Equine, and why I write and share about this topic often.

I wanted to create spaces and places for people to build collaborations and friendships, connect to all the amazing work happening worldwide, learn from the people spear-heading the change, and find creative and effective ways forward in their personal horse communities.

Most importantly, I wanted to create containers where people felt safe and supported being with their horses in the ways that felt right in their heart, felt held through the inevitable and challenging transitions, felt seen and heard when expressing their emotions and sharing their stories.

If this is why you’re here, I have a few ways to work with me.

My piece de resistance is the Whole Horse Apprenticeship, a culmination of almost 20 years of learning and dedicated to horses the world over. We begin every September 15th, setting off on a six month foray into all things equine wellness, with the help from over 25 guest instructors, four online courses, an in person retreat, and a community that takes the cake.

To get a taste of how I roll, without a big commitment, there is the Whole Horse Podcast, 6 seasons in with 100 episodes and counting, my articles for Horse Journals, as well as my individual online course Kinetic Communication. For the manual therapists, I am a co-instructor along with Elisse Miki of a 3 level comprehensive osteopathically-informed Equine Cranial Certification. A powerful skill set for all who share my love of learning, cranial osteopathy and horses.

I am available for one-on-one intuitive and energetic support with you and your horse (or other animals) – I specialize in supporting with transitions, including death and dying, but also herd, human and barn changes, and physical transitions including illness, injury and aging. I also wrote a book to support those navigating death and dying with their animals called Death Sucks: The Straight-up Guide to Navigating Your Pet’s Final Transition

You’ll find the connections to all these offerings and more below and if any feel like a fit for you, I look forward to working with you and your animals sometime soon.

Yours, Alexa, Diva, Raven, Reilly (wolfhound), Solo (chihuahua) and Makwa (panther in tiny body)

It’s hard to pick only a small number of words to describe Alexa because she is so talented and inspiring, it would be easy to go on forever! To say she’s had a huge impact on my life and the life of my animals is an understatement. If you haven’t worked with her yet, whatever is holding you back, let it go. You won’t regret it for a second.
